Wagons have come a long way from the old days when they were just for hauling things around. These Falcon wagons, for example, are handsome, spritely and economical. And they’re still mighty good at hauling things around.

Take a look at their loadspace. Nothing com-pact about it. It’s over seven feet long and almost five feet wide. And if you lower the counter-balanced tailgate, you’ve got a level loadspace nearly nine feet long. You’ll also like the easy way that second seat flips into fold-down position and back up again – with one hand and almost no effort at all. Very handy.

Out on the trails or thruways you’ll notice the Falcon’s ride is nothing like what you used to expect from a wagon. They’re smooth and quiet and mighty comfortable. Close your eyes and you’ll think you’re in a big sedan. (You’ll sure know they’re compacts at the gas pumps, though.)

You’ll like the spunky engines this year, too. A zippy 105-hp Six is standard (120-hp Six optional) on the 2-Door and 4-Door Falcon Wagons . . . the big 120-hp Six is standard on the Futura and Squire Wagons. And the 200-lip V-8 is optional on all of them. Of course, all the ’65 new Falcon features are here as well. Like the alternator and the longer-lived battery. Choose an optional Cruise-O-Matic transmission, too, if you like – and who wouldn’t like it?

Along with all this newness, Falcon’s famous WAGONS dependability and economy are here in spades. These Falcon wagons go three years or 36,000 miles between major chassis lubes and six months or 6,000 miles between oil changes and minor lubes. Vital body areas arc galvanized for protection against rust, too.

Best of all, there are seven wagon models to choose from, including the Squire and Club Wagons. Give one a try.
