Hello, I have a t10 with the later bell wide housing pattern and a 25-spline output shaft. I was wondering if it can be converted to a 28 spline output shaft? Can I still use the existing internals like bearings etc.?  the transmission is fresh. I wanted to get a 28-spline shaft just in case, since they apparently are prone to breaking.

I don’t think you can change the output shaft but a trans shop could tell you for sure. I had a heck of a time when I was getting a driveshaft made for my car when I changed the rear to a 9 inch. If you were making enough power to break the output shaft you would probably break the 8 inch rear as well. Probably better off with a toploader if you are going to make a lot more power.
